POOL RULES AND POLICIES

POOL RULES

  • No diving, running, or rough play allowed.
  • All swimmers must shower before entering the pool.
  • All children 11 years and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
  • Children 2 years and younger must wear swim diapers or swim liners at all times.
  • Please consider using locker rooms or family changing rooms to change your child’s suit. Changing on pool decks is prohibited.
  • No glass, gum, soap, or food is allowed in the pool area.
  • Proper swim attire must be worn. No cutoffs or t-shirts allowed
  • Full-face snorkel masks are not permitted
  • When there are more than 2 swimmers per lanes, everyone must circle swim
  • Spitting, blowing the nose or discharging bodily waste in the pool is prohibited.
  • Sitting or hanging on float lines is not allowed.
  • All life jackets must be US Coast Guard-approved for use in the pool.
  • Lifeguards reserve the right to inspect and approve any personal life jacket.
  • Please obey the lifeguard at all times.

YOUTH SWIM

AGE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Lap swimming and aqua classes are available for members 12+.
  2. Family Swim is available for ALL ages.
  3. Open Swim is available for members ages 12+
  4. YOUTH POLICIES:
    1. General Youth Supervision Policy:
      • Children ages 8 and under must have a parent or guardian in the water within arm's reach at all times regardless of swimming ability.
      • Children between the ages of 9 -11 years old must have a parent or guardian on the pool deck at all times regardless of swimming ability.
      • Children 12 and above may swim without a parent or guardian present.
      • Lifeguards may swim-check any child with questionable swimming ability and limit them to specific areas of the pool.
    2. Lap Swimming:
      • Youth are allowed to participate in lap swim as long as they are swimming continuously and do not cause a disturbance to other swimmers
      • Lifeguards reserve the ability to swim-test any member at any time.
    3. Aqua Fitness Classes:
      1. Youth ages 12 and up may participate in aquatic group fitness classes.
      2. Lifeguards reserve the ability to swim-test any member at any time.
    4. Swim Testing Policies
      • Lifeguards may swim test any member, regardless of age, if we question their ability to safely use the pool independently.  
      • Life jackets and puddle jumpers are available to anyone that we feel may need additional support in the water.
      • Swim Tests will include the following:
        • Swim the length of the pool using a strong and consistent forward stroke without stopping.
        • Climb out of the pool without using a ladder.
        • Jump in feet first and tread for 30 seconds.

FAMILY SWIM

  • See Youth Supervision Policies
  • No noodles, pool floats, or arm floats allowed during Family Swim.
  • Kickboards may be used as long as they are being used correctly.
  • Lifeguards have the authority to restrict equipment use if members or guests are observed using it improperly.
  • For safety, head-down lap swimming and backstroke lap swimming are not permitted in the warm water pool. This helps ensure the shared space remains comfortable and safe for all pool users.

WALKING AND LAP SWIM

Water Walking:

  • Lane 1 only
  • Members may walk or work out in portion of the pool that is not being utilized by Aqua Class (Classes use lane 1 through 5, or 6)
  • No walking in lanes 6 through 8 during aqua classes.
  • Lifeguards reserve the right to politely ask any member to move lanes at any time.

Lap Swimming:

  • Lap lanes are first-come, first-serve. During peak usage, it will become necessary for you to circle swim with other swimmers.
  • When entering a lane with other swimmers, notify them that you will be joining the lane.
  • When entering the water, never dive.
  • Lifeguards reserve the right to politely ask any member to move lanes at any time.

Lockers Room

  • Members and guests may choose a family locker room, private changing space or locker room corresponding to their self-identified gender.

  • No cell phone use, video chat or photos allowed while within the locker room area.

  • Children ages 12 and under must have adult supervision in locker rooms.

  • Lockers are available for daily use only.

  • Locks provided on Lockers (No outside locks)

  • Locker are available for day use only (Items left overnight will be removed and placed in lost and found)

  • Valuables cannot be accepted for safekeeping at front desk

  • No Towel Service (please bring your own towel)

  • Food or drink of any kind is prohibited in the locker room. Plastic water bottles are permitted. No glass of any kind.

Shower Rooms

  • Thoroughly clean up after using the shower; remove all your items. We will place any items left in the showers in the lost and found or discard them.
  • Keep in mind that a covering is expected when moving between the shower and lockers. Please dry off completely before entering the locker room area.
  • Lockers outside the family shower/bathrooms are in a public hallway. For these spaces, use the bathroom shower areas to change.

  • A clean, designated swimsuit
  • Bring your own towel
  • Water shoes or flip-flops, walking between the locker room and the pool deck
  • Bring your membership card/key tag

  • Goggles
  • Swim Cap

  • Shallow end: 3.5 Feet to deep end: 5 feet
  • Temperature: 79-82 degree Fahrenheit

Warm Pool

  • 15-yard length By 6.5 yards in width
  • ADA Chair Lift
  • Shallow end: 3.5 feet to deep end: 4 feet
  • Temperature: 87-89 degree Fahrenheit

  • Temperature: 79-81 degree Fahrenheit

  • 15 yards in length by 13 yards width
  • ADA Chair Lift
  • Shallow end, 3 feet to deep end 5 feet
  • Temperature: 88-92 degrees Fahrenheit
