Nationwide Membership enables you to visit any participating YMCA in the United States through membership at your home YMCA. We offer this option because we want to help you reach your health and wellness goals wherever you live, work or travel. This is an essential part of our mission to strengthen communities.

IN EVERY COMMUNITY

With a Nationwide YMCA Membership, members have the flexibility to use participating Y facilities throughout the United States at no additional cost. When members are traveling outside the area of their home Y, they can get their workout in and still connect with the larger YMCA community.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  1. Nationwide Membership is valid for active, full-facility YMCA members
  2. Nationwide member visitors must use their home Y at least 50% of the time.
  3. Program-only participants and Silver & Fit and Renew Active members are not eligible for Nationwide membership.
  4. When visiting a Y, Nationwide members will be required to show a valid YMCA membership card and photo ID as well as provide basic membership data such as name and email address.
  5. Members will need to respond to a waiver via email upon initial visit. Please bring your cell phone or another personal electronic device on your first visit.
  6. Visiting members may participate in Y programs at the non-member rate. Ys should allow Nationwide members access to services typically offered to full-facility members. Consult with the Y for the schedule and availability.
  7. Nationwide members visiting other Ys for a period greater than 28 days must transfer membership affiliation for continued use. This includes vacationers, college students and temporarily relocated employees.
  8. All Ys reserve the right to restrict or revoke these privileges. Please refer to the visiting YMCA membership policies and handbook.
  9. All Nationwide database members are subject to regular/automated sex offender screenings. Registered sex offenders are prohibited from participating.

NATIONWIDE MEMBERSHIP FAQs

Nationwide membership is a member benefit that allows all members within the Southeast Ventura County YMCA, branches of Simi Valley Family YMCA, and Yarrow Family YMCA to visit participating associations without paying an extra fee. Most YMCAs in the United States extend nationwide membership. Members of any participating YMCA may also visit our branches when they are away from home.

Most full-facility YMCA members are eligible for Nationwide Membership. Program-only members and third-party memberships and insurance memberships are not eligible for Nationwide. Please check with your home YMCA to confirm your eligibility.

Your home YMCA is the location where you joined and pay your membership dues. You must use this location 50% per month for check-ins.

You can visit any participating YMCA location nationwide. Nearly all YMCAs in the United States participate, but it is always a good idea to check with the location you plan to visit.

Yes. Nationwide Membership is intended for occasional use when traveling. If you visit another YMCA more than your home location over time, you may be asked to transfer your membership.

Yes, bring the following:

  • A valid YMCA membership card or digital app, with your YMCA barcode
  • A photo ID

Some locations may also require you to sign a guest waiver.

Access varies by locations. Most YMCAs offer full access to fitness centers, pools and group exercise classes. There are some programs that nationwide members may not have access to.

At the Simi Valley Family YMCA and Yarrow Family YMCA, Nationwide Members have access to the following:

  • Fitness Center
  • Pools
  • Gymnasium
  • Group Exercise Classes if space permits

Nationwide Members don't have access to the following:

  • Kids' Zone
  • Youth enrichment session-based programs

Nationwide Members' additional fees:

  • All paid programs at the non-member rate

 

Yes, if they are active on your membership plan. Each member must check in individually and may need to show ID.

At the Simi Valley Family YMCA and the Yarrow Family YMCA, Nationwide Members are allowed guest passes and must follow our guest policy.

 

Some YMCAs may have age restrictions or require supervision for certain areas like the fitness floor, pools or gymnasium. Please check with the branch.

At the Simi Valley Family YMCA and Yarrow Family YMCA, our policy is as follows:

All Nationwide YMCA members must have a signed liability waiver on file prior to entry. If the nationwide member is under 18, a parent or guardian must sign the liability waiver before entry.
