OUR COMMUNITY IMPACT
The Y is, and always will be, dedicated to building healthy, confident, connected and secure children, adults, families and communities. Every day our impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child and when a community comes together for the common good.

IMPACT STORIES
“I want to say thank you for the backpack for my high schooler. We appreciate it so much. You help out the families in need during this difficult time. God bless each and everyone from the bottom of my heart.” - Edna Palacios
“I just want to express my deepest gratitude. My children were so excited to receive their backpacks, and it truly meant so much to us. This past year has been incredibly difficult, losing our home and everything we were once secure in has been a heavy journey. In this hard time of rebuilding, your kindness has given us a moment of joy and relief. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, we truly, truly appreciate it.” - Anonymous Mother
After leaving an abusive relationship, I became the primary caregiver for my child and have full custody during the school year. I was in a difficult financial position and couldn’t afford childcare on my own. My child’s father refused to contribute to the cost, which added even more pressure.
I applied for financial aid through the YMCA, and thankfully, we were approved. The support allowed my child to attend a safe, reliable childcare program, which made it possible for me to keep working.
When my dad, the only other person helping me with childcare, passed away unexpectedly, the YMCA program became even more essential. Without financial aid, I wouldn’t have been able to continue providing for my child on my own. It has given us the stability we needed during an incredibly hard time.
My child really enjoys all of the crafts and projects. They also love “Fun Friday”.
There isn’t one specific moment that stands out. It’s really the entire experience that’s made an impact. Knowing my child has a safe, supportive place to go every day has made a huge difference for both of us. It’s allowed me to work without constantly worrying about care, and it’s given my child a routine, social interaction, and a sense of security. The consistency and quality of the program have had a lasting, positive effect on our daily lives. - Anonymous Mother
