Simi Valley Family YMCA: simiaquatics@sevymca.org

Yarrow Family YMCA: yarrowaquatics@sevymca.org

A proper swimsuit, a towel and goggles (optional) are recommended. All non-toilet trained individuals must wear a snug-fitting swim or adult diapers

Parents/Guardians are required to be in the water for Parent/Child classes. For preschool and school-age children's swim lessons, parents must remain in a designated viewing area, though instructors may ask parents to leave if the child is distracted.

Instructors are trained to handle fear; it is advised to let the instructor know of the first day.

We do not offer make-up swim lessons for participants missing a class.

If the YMCA cancels the lesson due to pool closure, you will be issued a system credit that will be applied for the following month.

We do not offer swim lessons on the following holidays.

  • New Year's Day
  • President's Day
  • Easter Day
  • Memorial Day

The family swim schedules are posted at the branches. We ask that you follow that schedule and not swim during lessons. This policy allows us to provide a great experience for the students in our lessons and provide a great family swim experience with no lessons to swim through while enjoying the pool and practicing skills at the Y.

Our policy is that one parent (18 and older) must stay inside the facility during swimming lessons. You will also need to come to the pool deck to drop-off and pick-up for every lesson.

You don't need to stay on the pool deck, but you must stay in the facility during lessons and return to the pool deck at the completion of the lesson. Please be present at the end time for your lesson, as our instructor needs to get ready for the next lesson group.

CANCELLATION POLICY

All cancellations must be submitted through the cancellation request form.

Cancellation requests must be received by the 25th of the current month to stop billing from the following month.

Requests submitted after the 25th will take effect the next billing cycle.

REFUND POLICY

Monthly payments cover the full month of lessons and refunds are not provided for lessons already completed. Cancellations must be submitted by the 25th to stop billing for the following month.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POOL POLICY

Our YMCA guidelines require us to close the pool to all activities if lightning and thunder is within 6 miles of our facility. Lifeguards are trained to judge this and have the final say on all closures. Pool and wet areas must be cleared and closed until 30 minutes after the last evidence of lightning and thunder is present.
