IMPACT PROGRAMS
The Southeast Ventura County YMCA supports several Impact Programs to meet the greatest needs of our community.
The Y's Impact programs are designed to create positive changes in individuals and communities. Our impact programs focus on building relationships, impacting lives and strengthening our community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
FIND MY GENIUS - SUMMER PROGRAM
Find My Genius summer program is a special no-cost summer learning program that helps children catch up, stay on track or get ahead on their reading and math skills while providing summer camp fun! To qualify, children must be on free or reduced lunch program and score below grade level at their school.
FIND MY GENIUS - AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM
The Find My Genius afterschool program is completely no-cost for families who qualify. The program collaborates with the school districts to provide students with homework support, academic instruction and social-emotional learning.
SAFETY AROUND WATER
The Safety Around Water program teaches kids, teens and adults what to do if they find themselves in the water unexpectedly. Participants learn essential water safety skills, include how to identify a safe place to swim, how to swim a short distance on their front, how to roll onto their back to rest and how to return to their front to continue swimming to safety.
Y CHAMPIONS
The Southeast Ventura County YMCA provides a safe place and support for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities to live more productively and inclusively in our community.
TEEN CIVIC ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS
The Southeast Ventura County YMCA Youth and Government and Model United Nations programs build skills such as critical thinking, persuasive public speaking, writing and research. Scholarships are available for high school and middle school students to participate in these programs.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Southeast Ventura County YMCA believes that everyone should have access to the Y, along with the programs and services that help us learn, grow and thrive. These funds come from the generosity of our donors.
